Fibule ansée digitée

Upper part of semi-circular arch with three digitations, the central part of which is decorated with a line of raised zigzags. The arch is then arched and fluted, and below this area, it features a motif evoking two adjoining peltae with ocelli in relief. The foot is flared and has the same zigzag pattern as the top. Iron spring through which passes a rod held by two perforated vertical spring holders; barb missing. Partially preserved gilding on the bow. This gilded copper-alloy fibula is part of the Merovingian Bügelfibeln series known from northwestern Germanic regions. Its size and composition, with a flared foot and three-digitation top, probably place it among the earliest models. Its decoration is characterized by a zigzag motif reproduced on the rounded part of the top and on the lower part of the foot, as well as by a circular motif in relief under the ringed part and on either side of the base of the foot.
