Fibule

Plate hinge. Fibula depicting a pigeon, head raised, looking to the left, wings spread. The eye is indicated by a niello dot. The feathers are marked by small curved or elongated incisions (once nielloed?). The animal's thighs are slightly curved and notches mark the claws of the legs (M.-A. Widehen, 2015).
